Tyrant lizard king-at least one of them

Description

The classical theropod every carnivorous dinosaur discovered during the last century has been compared to.

But like Allosaurs, Tyrannosaurs, at least derived Tyrannosaurines, were everything but classical theropods. In fact, every clade of these animals has many unique characters.
Tyrannosaurus rex was originally known because of its size, being the largest theropod known at the time, or at least the largest one known from still existing, properly described elements (not like Spinosaurus or Saurophagus). Of course, today it isn't anymore, but it is still a very large theropod that can take on msot of its competition.

Among dinosaur enthusiasts, the exceptional anatomical features of this animal are so well known it isn't worth the time repeating them, and non-dinosaur enthusiasts will probably not evne understand them anyway (not meant as an insult!).

So I'll make it short and say T. rex is amazing.

The reconstruction above was largely based on Hartman's most recent updates to his skeletal of FMNH PR 2081, the specimen is ~12,3m long and has a skull 1,45-1,5m in its largest dimension. And those metatarsals look longer than they really are!

PS: OK, there's one myth I have to rule out, and that's the T. rex=extremely intelligent and derived/every non coelurosaur=dumb and primitive thing.
First of all, as explained in Larsson et al., 2001, brains of saurians are problematic because they don't always occupy the same percentage of endocast volume. All that was done was hence compare the cerebrum to the rest, concluding the brains of Tyrannosaurids, beign closer to birds, also had a more birdlike brain, hence a larger cerebrum. it was also suggested that T. rex when compared to C. saharicus had a higher encephalisation quotient, that's true, but I cannot seem to find statements like "near-primate intelligence" and the like. Besides, it is normal that larger animals have lower encephalisation quotients.
More plesiomorphic theropods would have had brains closer to crocodiles or lizards, two clades that are by no means dumb and primitive. Directly comparing the brains of such different animals is unwise.

nice drawing.

its not considered to be the largest anymore? I have seen a lot of people suggest it still was... could you list some theropods that exceeded its size? not disagreeing with you but I have debated with people suggesting otherwise and I am curious to what you think.
